The #HireKoka update

Looking for a job is a job within itself.

The past week has been busy.

All in, I’ve talked with 20 companies.

Would it be bad to say that I knew before some of the calls that it wasn’t a good fit? Well, I did know but I had a feeling and wanted to follow through with the meetings because it never hurts to meet new people, hear about what their challenges are and getting a better understanding of whats being done.

Of those, I’m down to 8 that I’m continuing to talk with.

They range from small 30 person companies to larger 2,000 employee companies.

Size matters, but what matters more is the work that I’ll be doing and what the product is really matters.

Then I saw this video by Jim Keenan. He used #HireKoka as an example of how everyone needs  to have an “Own it” mentality when it comes to your career.

The I was reminded of this video clip from Linkedin Sales Connect 2014. I was moderating a marketing leadership panel and Ralf (my manager at the time) explained one of the reasons he felt Sales Solutions was successful.
