Many of you already know but for the new readers, I’m having a baby soon. Well, my wife is technically having the baby but it’s almost the same thing right? In my typical compartmentalized ways, I started a new site that will focus on being a dad and raising my son.

One of the things I’ve been working on is getting rid of a lot of my websites. Pre baby days were filled with work and developing my blogs and websites. Post baby will require me to spend less time on my internet addiction and web development and more on baby Sexton development. Yes…it’s a requirement.

Since most of my readers here are only interested in my posts on social media and other internet treats, I didn’t want to write too much about the looming baby details and threw together a blog to talk about nothing but babies.

Welcome to Playing Daddy

Playing daddy is going to be the site I am using to write about all the excitement and struggles of being a first time father. Many of my friends have kids already so I have gotten a taste of what I’m in for. Truth is you never know until you have one of your own. So I wanted to write about some of the random things that have run through my head getting ready for the little man and meet some other parents online that I could get some new baby tips from. Thanks to Twitter, I have already found several. Yes, Playing Daddy has it’s own Twitter account too.

My wife has been very diligent writing about the pregnancy on her own site and for the most part I failed doing it for the past several months. But that’s all changing now. Besides a small handful of sites that I will stay active on, Playing Daddy will be my new project as a new parent. It’s written from a guy’s point of view and I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything. My wife is going to read some of my posts and give me that look that only she can give.

So if you have kids or have one one the way and want to help a new dad out with any of your insights, I would really appreciate it. I’m really excited to be a parent and this just starts a new chapter in my life. In 15 years when my son is yelling at me about curfews and other dribble, he can go to his room and read about all the hell he put me through as an infant with late nights and poopie diapers. Just kidding I’m sure my spawn is going to be the polar opposite of what I was like as a teen. Wishful thinking I know.

Unless there is some grand news that I need to announce, all the baby talk will be there. Now back to your normally scheduled posts on the world of Social Media.
