Billion dollar bail-out – We deserve it!
I’ve been thinking about this bailout. I’ve decided I’m against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.
Instead, I’m in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.
Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..
So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billion that equals $425,000.00.
My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.
Of course, it would NOT be tax free. So let’s assume a tax rate of 30%.
Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.
That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.
But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.
A husband and wife has $595,000.00.
What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?
Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved.
Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college – it’ll be there
Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car – create jobs
Invest in the market – capital drives growth
Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves.
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else
Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks
who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.
If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out
a puny $1000.00 ( “vote buy” ) economic incentive that is being proposed by
John McCain
If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult US Citizen 18+!
As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General.
Sell off the real estate. Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.
Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t.
Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.”
But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!
How do you spell Economic Boom?
I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion
“We deserve the We Deserve It Dividend more than the geniuses at AIG.”
And remember, The Plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Of course this is satire. This type of math is what got the economy in the problems we face. This email/post has been sent all over the internet and I thought I’d post it for prosperity. I’m no mathematician but I also didn’t write this. I can only imagine that the author of this chain email really knew what he was doing.

$425, not $425000.

You sir are an idiot.
$85 billion divided by 200 million is $425.00
Seriously…

#2165 September 25th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
Er, check your math.
85,000,000,000 / 200,000,000 = 425. NOT 425,000.
¬ Jeff
#2166 September 25th, 2008 at 6:41 pm
You need to check your math. Not even close. 85b / 200m = $425 per person.

#2167 September 25th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
85 billion/200,000= 425,000? Is this satire?

200,000,000. Sorry.

#2170 September 25th, 2008 at 6:54 pm
I think you have your math wrong.
85,000,000,000 / 200,000,000 = 85,000 / 200 = 425. So that’s $425.

85 billion divided by 200 million is 425…not 425 thousand. good idea though

You could just as easily get your $297,000 by suing your high school since they obviously failed to teach you the skills to perform math. 85 Billion divided by 200 Million (there are actually closer to 228 Million adult Americans but that’s beside the point) equals 425. Enjoy your $425 dollars.

Okay, so the author was WAAAAAAY off on their math… three decimal places, in fact.
Still, a $425 hand-out to every single adult American would help a lot. It’d help people get that much closer to being out of debt, or to paying off the car, or the house, or whatever. Or, it could quite simply be used for general purposes. Either way, so long as it was actually spent, it would help quite a bit, I think.

hmmm your math may be wrong… but this plan seems better. If our businesses are failing across the board, it is a good thing! we need to weed out the weaker and monkey squandering business’ so the stronger and better planed business’ succeed. What ever happened to the doctrine of free enterprise?

MORON
Besides the fact that it is only $425 — Bush just gave almost 3 times that ($1,200) in tax rebates to each tax payer
these F’n Democrats will do anything to make Bush look bad while at the same time
expecting their stupid members to believe any thing they say. Well it’s nice to be a “voter”……huh??? You only have to be 18 to be a voter don’t even need to own a calculator.

#2189 September 26th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
OKay, folk. Did no one of you here get it? The authot of the satire even said, that the numbers were fudged to show that the calculation he got was based on how the economy is being run. He knows its only 425 dollars for each individual. Just like we do, but this was meant to be a joke. Read the first response.
¬ MediaSlackers
#2194 September 27th, 2008 at 3:13 am
Y’all are serious morons. As “Uhh” pointed out, read the first response from Koka and then look up the definition of satire. As for “Human Player,” before you criticize Koka’s math skills, I would suggest a course in remedial English in order to learn how to put together a proper sentence. Perhaps you can use some of that precious rebate to pay for it!!

To comment #22:
I read the first response, and it does not say what you think it does. At no point does Koka state that HE fudged the numbers, he mentions others doing so..presumably he means they attempt to deceive people about the size of the bail-out in terms of dollars per individual citizen. The math error stands, not to mention that giving $425 to every citizen won’t keep the country (and hence the world) from entering a massive recession. Tt is simply a poor concept based on flawed mathematics.

This so called bailout is a sham and a crime. the same crooks in congess and in the whitehouse that caused the problem must think the american people are STUPID…. WE ARE. If they get away with this every few months they will be back for more handouts for the crooks on wallstreet.

#2220 September 30th, 2008 at 11:45 am
It doesn’t make sense that he is now claiming to have “fudged” the numbers as a satire to make an example. None of the companies going down are in trouble because they misplaced a few decimal points and were bad at math. They cheated and cooked up false numbers. His response and explanation is the first response because he either caught his mistake or someone pointed out what a dumb xxxx he is before anyone else had a chance to post. Otherwise why would he attempt to be the first to post a response.

WOW! Whether he “fudged” the number the math whatever. It is a good example of how these idiots on wall street work, and an excellent idea… To give back to the people of this country, the NATURAL BORN CITIZENS… Its shaming that they can’t see how much better this would be, they helped many of us get into this mess, why can’t they see it would be a better idea to help us get out of this mess. We all know how well they obviously take care of their money, why would we want to bail them out for them to do it over again. Its also shaming that so many of you were quick to worry that his math was wrong or whatever then see the example and statment he was giving… WAKE UP AMERICA..!!!!! George Bush may have let us down this last four years but we are in a much worse world of hurt if OBAMA gets in office. It has nothing to do with his RACE, his RELIGION, or anything else, THE MAN IS NOT QUALIFIED. He has been running for president for half the time he has been a senator. How in the world does he have the experiece or knowledge to run this country and help us recovery from the downfall we are in?????? AGAIN, WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!

You are worried about Obama and would Vote for Sarah Palin? And you tell us to wake up, now I really am scared. People this was satire what is going to happen very soon is reality I am not asking you take my side I am Begging you do your homework and really base your decision on the facts. Not hearsay not the media not the surface issues. Dig deeper or stay out of the voting booth that is your Duty to this country. A vote based on ignorance is treason! I say this because YOUR vote effects everyone. If you haven’t learned for the last years of endless disasters take the time to educate yourselves now!

Now to address the ignorance of the “NATURAL BORN CITIZENS” please read a history book what this country was founded on better yet take a trip to Ellis Island in New York and pull your storage space for ignorance out of your orifice of spewing crap and learn something before you go patronizing the people here. Unless you are a native american you to my friend are the offspring of immigrants so get off your high horse. If you are a native american I concede.
You do make some valid points and show me signs that there is an intelligent mind there somewhere please USE IT and learn of which you speak.

One last thing, if you took the $700,000,000,000 bail out that just happened and divide it without taxes and give back to the 218,000,000 people we would each get $3211.01 I could really use that ! And that isn’t satire that is just sad.
