Podcast and Sales Tools that make life easier for entrepreneurs
I often meet sales people that work in the high-tech industry, but really are technologically challenged. When I’ve asked them what they do to learn their trade and get better at being sales people, I usually get a ‘deer in the headlights’ look. Many of these sales people have not had any formal sales training and they got to where they are by just ‘doing it’. Though this may work, it’s not an intelligent approach to your career. Sales is a dynamic career and in order to be really good at it and be successful for both yourself and the company, you need to stay on top of your game.
I do mean it when Sales is a career, not just a job. Like a doctor or a lawyer, you should strive to be a professional in your field. You do this by learning everything you can and applying that knowledge to your work. Would you trust a doctor or a lawyer that never attended any training after they got out of school 10 years earlier? I wouldn’t either.
Many companies cannot afford or will not put out the cost of properly training their sales people on strategic and new methodologies. This could be done for a number of reasons, but mostly, it’s because they do not see the value in it. So what are you going to do? Find FREE Sales tools that can give you that edge.
A few years back, I got my first iPod for Christmas. Being able to have something to listen to on the road or while sitting in an airport was something I had wanted for a while. Sure I had a hard drive filled with music but what I was more interested in was using this new gift to carry along a virtual library of information that I can call on at any given time.
I have hundreds of MP3s of books and speeches that I used to have to be tied to my desktop to listen to but now I can bring them with me where ever I go. But the world opened up once I was introduced to my first selling podcast. The idea of getting current information and training on a consistent basis was worth it’s weight in gold.
Here are a list of podcasts that I have an active subscription to. You can get all of these for free from iTunes or their websites.
