Training days
So I have been sitting in a class room for the past couple of days watching Power Point slides and having open discussions about the NetSuite application and how we are positioned in the industry.
There are eight people in the class. Most are from the Toronto office, three of us are out of San Mateo. I got paired up with a sales guy named Jeff that’s been with the company for about three weeks. In between sessions I was picking his brain about his daily activities and he was very open to show me some tips and tricks on using NetSuite to manage his sales.
Between the classes and the information from the other sales people, I have learned alot. Most of the questions I’ve had have already been answered. The rest of the week, we are building on our demo skills and by Friday I have to give a presentation and online demonstration to the class as if they were a prospect.
Though I have had some second thoughts about the company and my position, I do feel that this is going to work out for me. The product is solid. Very solid. My only issue is that I try to get to technical with products and there is SO much NetSuite can do that there is no way I can learn it all in a short period of time, so I have to suck it up and stick with the basics.
Tomorrow night some of the local sales people are going to take us to downtown Toronto and show us around. I’m looking forward to seeing the city. I’ll just have to watch the adult beverage intake since I have my presentation first thing on Friday.
Today is also Meghan’s birthday. It sucks to be away from home on these occasions and somehow to always seems that I am out of town on her birthday. Be it the Army or Work, I seem to be out of the house. Sorry babes. I’ll make it up to you!
So this is just a quick update. Thanks for reading.

If you have time, try to get the the Toronto neighborhood that’s kind of like the Haight Ashbury, it’s an artsy neighborhood with lots of cools shops with soaps, jewelery and shit like that from local artists/craftspeople. You’ll likely see something that you can pick up for Meghan that will make up for your absence. Look forward to seeing you soon, but knowing that you’re well is awesome.
