#LinkedIn GSK2014 was a Blast

Life at LinkedIn, it’s a lot of hard work with sprinkles of amazing experiances. That’s what Global Sales Kickoff was, an amazing experiance.

Last week thousands of sales people from around the world decended on San Francisco to attend an event like no other I have ever been part of. Part training, part reunion and part Oscars award show but ALL LinkedIn.

I had a great time, actually it was beyond great. I had the opportunity to meet so many people from offices around the world that I had only talked with on calls or email.

What I walked away with will stay with me forever. The theme of the event was “Relationships Matter” (One of the LinkedIn values). The entire event was wrapped in stories and insights about why this is one of the company values and why it matters (A whole blog post is to come about that).

As for Sales Solutions, it’s inspiring to see how much the teams have grown over the year. We have a truly passionate group of people evangilizing social selling to the world. The impact they have already had can be seen and felt, I’m excited for what this year has planned.

The event was closed out with some breakout sessions. I was in the Global Enterprise Marketing session where the keynote was done by Brian Solis one of the people I highly respect in the space of social business thought leadership.

I wasn’t expecting it but I won an award for Marketing Innovation for the work I have done building social marketing at LinkedIn. I was actually in shock when I realized I was getting the award. Im sure I sounded like a fool accepting the award but I dont remember exactly what I said (I was shocked) and I appreciate the recognition from the group.

If LinkedIn wasn’t already an amazing place to work, the excitement from GSK would be enough to carry me through the year until the next one.
