Night of the Living Guitar XIX – Musicians Institute Concert
In an effort for some family promotion, I am sharing some information for an upcoming concert in Los Angeles that my brother Patrick Sexton will be in. Patrick left for music college back in 2007 and is about to graduate. This is his final project and will be a concert of some very talented guitarists graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology.
Yes they even have a Facebook page.
The school produces talent and then the graduates have gone out and have started working with some of the greatest musicians around. Dave Weiner graduated from GIT and became a touring guitarist with Steve Vai, Ray Luzier has worked with some big bands and is now a drummer for Korn.
On Thursday, March 12th, MI’s Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) proudly presents the nineteenth installment of Night of the Living Guitar at Hollywood’s world-renowned Knitting Factory (public is invited).
This live showcase event features the talents of the graduating class of March 2009, with more than 70 guitarists performing in every imaginable style accompanied by a smokin’ house band. See GIT’s finest strut their stuff on stage as they prepare to leave MI and make their mark on the music world!
Where: The Knitting Factory, 7021 Hollywood Boulevard (three blocks west of MI) www.knittingfactory.com
When: Thursday, March 12th, 5-9pm
Tickets: MI students with ID: $5; general public: $5 advance, $7 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Knitting Factory box office.
P.S. Sorry, no backstage passes are available for this performance.
Great family promotion post! I am actually working on an amazing book about the adoption of 7 boys from the projects in New York City Michael Rosen http://www.michaelrosenwords.com
